The National White Water Centre is based on the River
Tryweryn; a truly wild mountain river in the heart of Snowdonia, North Wales. Since pioneering commercial white water
rafting in the UK,
the centre has hosted several canoeing world championships and remains the
nation's favourite white water destination. On offer is a huge array of
heart-pumping white water activities which will test your nerve and leave you
thoroughly soaked! The Tryweryn is a dam-released river, so water often
thunders down its rapids while other rivers are dry, producing year round white
water, in a breathtaking natural environment.
You can go white water rafting in groups, hire a kayak or
canoe, go on a weekend course or just sit and watch others!
Although the great outdoors is the perfect setting for your
river adventure, you’ll appreciate a little comfort at changing time!
Prepare for your activity in warm male and female changing rooms with coin
return lockers, and afterwards enjoy a hot shower in contrast to the
“refreshing” Tryweryn wash you’ve just received.
All prices for rafting include CEN safety approved helmets and buoyancy
aids. You are free to take a long-legged wetsuit and footwear of your own, or you can hire a wetsuit with boots from their stores.
If you don't fancy taking to the water they have a lovely trail through the woodland which follows the course of the river.
The Centre is at Bala, approximately ¾ of an hour from Garreg Goch
Caravan Park.
We currently have offers of 10% off all white water
activities with the cards available in Reception, for all guests staying on
Park, which also gives 10% off all purchases in the Riverside Café at the
centre. You can either take the card with you, call them on 01678 521083 or
book online quoting the promotion code of RAFTER to get the offer.
